Lightyear announced that they will be continuing their collaboration with NXP Semiconductors. With this announcement, they are one step closer to bringing the first solar electric vehicle on the road. The collaboration started in 2013, during the World Solar Championship. Using NXP’s chips, Lightyear is able to develop their prototypes faster and to shorten the time-to-market for both Lightyear One and the future high-volume series of Lightyear.
