Utrecht Science Park
The Utrecht Science Park is home to the largest concentration of knowledge-intensive institutions and companies in the Netherlands. With 130 companies on more than 300 hectares of land, the park has the highest density of knowledge institutions in a small area. Besides business activity, there is also room for education, and more than 51,000 students are taught every day at Utrecht University and Utrecht University of Applied Sciences.

History
Since the 1960s, an increasing number of research institutes and spin-offs, such as Genmab, Merus and GedX, began to establish themselves in Utrecht. To make the best possible use of this unique concentration of knowledge and to intensify cooperation between institutions and businesses, a plan was drawn up with the ambition of creating clear added value for the area. One result was the Utrecht Science Park, where these institutions and companies could establish themselves. Over the years, this created a flourishing ecosystem within Life Sciences & Health in Utrecht.
