DGBC presented the Breeam Excellent certificate for new R&D Center.
On March 12, internationally operating biotech company Genmab moved into her new Research & Development Center on Utrecht Science Park. About 200 employees have found a new home in the over 11,000 m2 building, designed by cepezed architects in Delft. Dura Vermeer was responsible for the risk-carrying Design and Build assignment.
Kadans Science Partner is specialized in investing in building for the knowledge-intensive sector on and around science parks and university campuses. In July 2017, Kadans closed a joint venture with Oaktree Capital Management. Kadans expects to expand their real estate portfolio with the help of Oaktree’s experience, large network and financial strength. ‘Investing in the development for Genmab is a perfect example of the ambition of Kadans’, says Michel Leemhuis, CEO of Kadans Science Partner.
‘The state-of-the-art office and laboratory facilities are designed around the themes of Connect-Inspire-Create and offer an exceptional stimulating and pleasant work environment for the highly qualified employees that are passionately working on the development of innovative medicine for cancer’, says Prof. dr. Jan van de Winkel, President and CEO of Genmab.
Breeam Excellent
In May 2018, DGBC presented the Breeam Excellent certificate. The sustainable office and laboratory are located closely to the Hubrecht Institute, Danone Research, the Prinses Maxima Center for pedriatic oncology, and the P+R and the start of the Uithof tram line.
‘We are proud of receiving the Breeam Excelent certificate so shortly after Genmab moved into the new building, says Roy van Lieshout of Dura Vermeer. ‘Risk-carrying sustainable project development and Design & Build assignments are exactly what Dura Vermeer is good at.
De most important sustainable elements are: a geothermal heating system, a photovoltaic solar panel roof, an atrium soaked in sunlight with inviting stairs, a Science Café where scientists can meet and where lectures and symposia can take place. Standing out is the extremely airtight front.
In addition to Genmab R&D Center, Plus Ultra in Wageningen is BREEAM Excellent certified as well.
