Vanderlande will open its R&D Innovation Lab for robotics in Kadans Science Partner Meulensteen House of Robotics building. The lease agreement with Kadans has been signed and will commence June 1, 2019. The property is located on the east side of the Technical University of Eindhoven Campus (TU/e), where majority of the commercial companies cluster.
Meulensteen House of Robotics is a new multi-tenant building with workshop space for companies specialized in robotics. The building was recently transformed to meet their specific needs. Besides refurbishing the workshop space, various shared facilities have been created. The new environment is ideal for start-ups and companies that maintain a link or would like to cooperate with the TU/e and related businesses.
Vanderlande is the global market leader for value-added logistic process automation at airports and in the parcel market. The company is also a leading supplier of process automation solutions for warehouses.
Vanderlande’s baggage handling systems move 4.2 billion pieces of luggage around the world per year. Its systems are operational at 600 different airports including 13 of the world’s top 20. More than 45 million parcels are sorted by its systems every day, which have been installed for the world’s leading parcel companies. In addition, many of the largest global e-commerce players and distribution firms have confidence in Vanderlande’s efficient and reliable solutions.
With their new facilities, Vanderlande creates an open innovation environment for the development and testing of new technologies. Vanderlande specifically chose to locate their lab at the TU/e Campus to connect with innovative robotics solutions and to stimulate cooperation with knowledge organizations. The campus and Kadans’ ecosystem encourages knowledge-sharing with other tech companies, university departments and students to accelerate the application of innovations.
Kadans is happy to welcome Vanderlande to the community. Kadans currently owns and operates two buildings on this campus in which a variety of knowledge-intensive companies and organizations are accommodated. As a science park investor, developer and operator, Kadans is involved throughout the full life cycle of campuses and their businesses.
