Industrial History

In Roman mythology, the “genius loci” represents the protective deity of a place, influencing both people and locations. Electrical engineer Wilhelm Lahmeyer, alongside Heinrich Garbe, founded Garbe, Lahmeyer & Co. in 1886, establishing a legacy of inventive excellence. Today, Kadans revives this heritage at At the Park Aachen, creating a hub for breakthroughs in battery electric vehicles, advanced materials, and high-tech systems – securing the city’s place as a leading European innovation centre.

Collective Incubator

The Collective Incubator is the co-innovation platform for students, researchers, and companies at FH Aachen and RWTH Aachen University, providing a vibrant co-working and maker space for new ventures. At its heart is a thriving community of talent, projects, and start-ups, connecting innovators across disciplines and fostering collaboration between academia and industry. The Collective Incubator empowers innovators to turn ideas into reality. With dedicated support from the in-house workshop and technical teams, access to advanced prototyping equipment, and connections to corporate partners, students and researchers can develop new products, refine technologies, and scale their start-ups.
