Kadans Science Partner and PMV to develop Plus Ultra Gent: a new cluster for life sciences at Tech Lane Ghent Science Park

September 4, 2025

Ghent, 4 September 2025 – Kadans Science Partner and the Flemish investment company PMV are joining forces to realise Plus Ultra Gent, a leading multi-tenant building at Tech Lane Ghent Science Park. With this development, both partners aim to give a strong boost to the life sciences ecosystem in Flanders.

Plus Ultra Gent

Plus Ultra Gent will be a highly flexible building spanning 20,000 m², consisting of two main components: an eight-storey Accelerator and a three-storey research facility. The Accelerator will offer approximately 15,000 m² of lettable space, evenly divided between laboratories and offices. The research facility will cover an additional 5,000 m² and is designed to support advanced research and production.

The building is primarily aimed at companies active in Health Tech and Pharma, Agro Tech and Sustainable Food Production, and Sustainable and Circular (Bio)Chemical Processes. It will provide a stimulating environment for growth and collaboration. Shared facilities will be available across various levels within the atrium, including centrally located meeting rooms. Plus Ultra Gent is being developed with a strong focus on sustainability and aims to achieve a BREEAM Excellent certification upon completion.

This development responds to the growing demand for high-quality infrastructure for research and innovation in the area. Thanks to its strategic location at Tech Lane Ghent Science Park, in the heart of one of Europe’s most dynamic knowledge clusters, Plus Ultra Gent offers direct access to academic expertise, talent, and industrial partners.

Collaboration

Kadans Science Partner, specialised in developing and managing buildings for knowledge-intensive sectors, and PMV are combining their strengths to create an environment that fosters collaboration, innovation, and growth.

“With Plus Ultra Gent, we aim to be a catalyst for innovation in the life sciences industry,” says Sandrine Wouters, Head of Belgium at Kadans. “We are creating a place where scale-up companies can grow, collaborate, and make an impact. We are delighted to add another science park to our portfolio of over 30 science clusters.”

Michel Casselman, General Manager of PMV: “As a joint venture partner of the new building, we want to ensure the continued anchoring of the life sciences cluster in Flanders. PMV is one of the most active investors in our country, with a portfolio that includes many companies that originated here in Ghent and can successfully develop further from this ecosystem. We are proud to help realise infrastructure that is not only relevant today but will continue to be so for entrepreneurs and researchers in the future.”
