Kadans Science Partner completes construction of The MIX at Paris-Saclay and announces NcodiN as its first tenant

October 19, 2026

Paris-Saclay, 20/10/2026 – Kadans Science Partner reaches a new milestone with the completion of The MIX, its Second building in France, following the opening of The Hive at the end of 2025 on the Campus Grand Parc in Villejuif, Kadans Science Partner is taking another major step forward in France with the completion of The MIX, located at the heart of the Paris-Saclay plateau, France’s leading deeptech cluster. Kadans is also pleased to announce the arrival of NcodiN, a deeptech startup spun out of C2N and specialized in optical interconnect technologies for AI processors, as the building’s first tenant. The company will establish both its headquarters and laboratories within The MIX.

A building designed to empower deeptech innovation

The MIX is a 15,000 sqm multi-tenant building designed by the architectural firm ChartierDalix and constructed by the Vinci Group. Organized around a light-filled central atrium that connects all laboratory and office spaces, the building has been specifically designed to accommodate a wide range of occupants, from recently incubated startups and fast-growing scaleups requiring independent floorplates, to business units and subsidiaries of large corporations and research institutes looking to occupy entire floors.

The building provides a high-performance working environment with fully fitted, modular, technical, and secure laboratories, including BSL-1 and BSL-2 wet labs, dry labs, cleanrooms, and pilot plants, all delivered ready for immediate operation.

The MIX is set to become a landmark hub for the research and innovation communities of the Paris-Saclay plateau. Located directly adjacent to the “Université Paris-Saclay” metro station and featuring carefully designed and welcoming shared spaces, it will foster interaction among all key stakeholders driving innovation, including academic institutions, competitiveness clusters, technology transfer offices (SATTs), and industrial partners.

By supporting both the growth of local companies and international attractiveness, The MIX will help accelerate the development of Paris-Saclay in strategic sectors such as energy, advanced materials, biotechnology, industrial processes, and data sovereignty.

Kadans is delighted to welcome NcodiN, France’s pioneering company in optical interconnect technologies for artificial intelligence, as the first tenant of The MIX.

The first laboratories are expected to become operational and teams will begin moving in during early 2027, shortly after the opening of Metro Line 18 to the public, providing a direct connection to Massy.

NcodiN: powering AI with light

NcodiN perfectly embodies the vision behind The MIX. Originating from C2N, a leading nanoscience research center located nearby on the Paris-Saclay plateau, the company is developing optical interconnect technology designed to overcome the limitations of copper-based connections in AI processors and high-performance computing systems.

Its integrated nanolasers, the world’s smallest lasers integrated on silicon, combined with nanodetectors, enable extremely dense integration and are designed to use up to 30 times less energy per bit than today’s interconnects.

Led by its cofounders Francesco Manegatti (CEO) and Fabrice Raineri (CTO), the startup completed a €16 million seed funding round in November 2025, anchored by MIG Capital, with participation from Maverick Silicon, PhotonVentures, and Verve Ventures, following an earlier €3.5 million pre-seed round co-led by Elaia and Earlybird.

Establishing operations in The MIX will enable NcodiN to accelerate the industrialization of its NConnect platform within the very ecosystem where the company was born. The startup will continue to benefit from the expertise of C2N, while also being near neighboring institutions such as IPVF, the Institut d’Optique, and the École Normale Supérieure (ENS). It will also have access to major facilities operated by the CEA and be located near potential customers.

This dynamic environment brings together all the ingredients of a thriving innovation ecosystem, providing an exceptional platform to support NcodiN’s continued growth and technological development.

“The MIX has been highly anticipated in Paris-Saclay. Until now, we lacked a building capable of accommodating innovative companies of all sizes in modern technical and office spaces available for lease. The MIX will therefore address a critical need in the growth journey of technology-driven companies within the ecosystem. We now offer a complete range of technical and office facilities for lease in a prime station-side location, alongside strategically located development sites for large corporations wishing to build their own R&D centers directly adjacent to the metro.” declares Martin Guespereau, General Director at EPA-PS

“We’re thrilled to be the first tenant of this new facility — it’s a strong signal of confidence in the quality and depth of the Paris-Saclay ecosystem, one of the world’s leading deep-tech clusters. This space gives NcodiN the infrastructure we need to scale our photonics platform at the pace our customers and partners expect. We’re grateful to Kadans for this valuable synergy, and for supporting NcodiN as we scale up operations at the speed of light!” said Francesco Manegatti, CEO at NcodiN.

“We are delighted that NcodiN has chosen The MIX as the next step in its growth journey. The company perfectly embodies the extraordinary strengths of Paris-Saclay: world-class engineering serving the future of computing power, academic excellence, outstanding talent, and strong industrial potential. This leasing agreement perfectly illustrates Kadans Science Partner’s European strategy: enabling the growth of local ecosystems while enhancing the international visibility and impact of European scientific excellence.” explains Elsa Ferrard, France Director at Kadans Science Partner.
