Mayde is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built laboratory and office building located in King’s Cross’ growing community of life science and tech businesses.
London, UK, 9 October 2025: Kadans Science Partner (“Kadans”) today announces that Plasmidsaurus, a specialist DNA sequencing biotechnology company, is expanding its UK presence at Mayde, in Tileyard Quarter, King’s Cross, London.
Plasmidsaurus unlocks new levels of productivity for scientists with a global network of labs operating day and night to provide whole-plasmid DNA sequencing services that enable world-changing discoveries.
As a long standing partner, Plasmidsaurus has benefited from Kadans’ unique blend of scalability, connectivity, talent and investment across its portfolio. As Plasmidsaurus sought to grow its London presence, Kadans’ diverse offering of developments has provided the company with the opportunity to increase its office and lab space at Mayde, Kings Cross, supporting its mission to accelerate new cures and promote a healthier planet.
Plasmidsaurus will continue to benefit from Kadans’ wider, global ecosystem, joining Mayde’s existing clients including EpochBio and others in becoming part of the wider King’s Cross science cluster and gaining access to a network of like-minded scientific organisations, professionals and academics.
Mayde, which officially opened in November 2024, is a state-of-the-art, purpose-built 114,000 sq ft laboratory and office building located in King’s Cross’ growing life science and tech community. Mayde is the first and only commercially facing facility in London which combines GMP manufacturing, laboratory and office space, having been designed specifically to support expansion from research and development into commercialisation.
Mark Budde, Co-Founder and CEO, Plasmidsaurus, said: “King’s Cross is one of London’s busiest hubs, connecting people and ideas from across the world, and that’s exactly where we want to be. Expanding into Mayde goes beyond adding square footage; it’s about being plugged into an ecosystem of scientists pushing boundaries. We’re here to accelerate science, and this ecosystem — always moving, always connecting, like the hub around us — gives us the momentum to help scientists go further, faster.”
Katie Nelson, Head of Leasing UK & Ireland, Kadans Science Partner, added: “The ability to support companies through the entirety of their growth journey within the wider Kadans portfolio if one of the key facets of our ecosystem. Having partnered with Plasmidsaurus over the last two years, the continuation of our relationship at Mayde is a superb example of this approach in action and what we hope will be just one further stage of a long and successful relationship together.”
DTRE and Savills act for Kadans Science Partner.
Mayde is the first of four Kadans projects located at Tileyard Quarter, King’s Cross, London, and the complete development will comprise over 300,000 sq ft of Kadans’ laboratory, office and GMP manufacturing space. Mayde’s facilities are suitable for heavy chemistry use as well as all areas of science and the building is designed to a lab first principle, with a dedicated loading area and services also available for use.
Construction of the second building, Versa, is underway. It will supplement the existing facilities at Mayde and is due to complete in Q3 2026.
