Eterna Regeneratives joins Kadans Science Partner’s London Innovation Centre in Canary Wharf
King’s College spin-out Eterna Regeneratives has successfully taken the next steps to commercialise its revolutionary enamel repair technology
LONDON, UK, 17 September 2026: Kadans Science Partner (“Kadans”) has today announced that King’s College spin-out Eterna Regeneratives (“Eterna”) has launched its first laboratory at The London Innovation Centre in Canary Wharf. Co-founded by Khaled Eissa and Dr Sherif Elsharkawy in 2024, Eterna is set to begin commercial development for its radical new enamel-regrowing technology as it moves from Kings College, initially targeting the $43bn global oral care market.
Research led by co-founder and King’s College London lecturer Dr Sherif Elsharkawy attracted international attention last year, after studies found the team’s revolutionary patented material could successfully regrow damaged tooth enamel using keratin – a protein found in human hair, skin and wool. Unlike many other tissues in the human body, tooth enamel cannot naturally regenerate once it has been lost, which can lead to hypersensitivity, cavities, tooth pain and the gradual deterioration of teeth.
Following strong in vitro results, Eterna has now successfully launched its own laboratory space at Kadans’ London Innovation Centre, focusing on its capability to scale production and create future innovations. The team is now working to identify production partners and strategic collaborators capable of bringing the technology to the mass market in the form of toothpaste and mouthwash.
