The Hive Campus Grand Parc officially inaugurated

June 5, 2026

With The Hive, Kadans Science Partner brings the ambition of the Paris Saclay Cancer Cluster to life and further strengthens its position within Europe’s oncology innovation ecosystem.

Villejuif, Paris, 5 June 2026 – A new chapter in Europe’s life sciences landscape opened today on the southern edge of Paris in Villejuif. With the inauguration of The Hive, the first Kadans Science Partner development in the French capital, Kadans Science Partner has delivered more than a building: contributing to turning the ambition of the Paris Saclay Cancer Cluster and its flagship location, Campus Grand Parc, into reality, now officially launched as France’s first innovation hub entirely dedicated to oncology.

The official inauguration ceremony during the Kadans Oncology Summit gathered leading figures from oncology research, healthcare, industry and public policy, underscoring both the scientific weight of the site and its growing strategic relevance at European level. With over 475 attendees throughout the day, the various panels and presentations tackled the questions that biotechs are dealing with today, such as financing, licensing, AI, and biomarkers.

Leading hub in oncology care and research

Set adjacent to Gustave Roussy, Europe’s leading cancer centre, Campus Grand Parc has been conceived to address a long-standing gap in the innovation chain: the difficult transfer from academic discovery to industrial development. Campus Grand Parc seeks to resolve this disconnect by concentrating the full cycle of oncology research in one place, developed and strongly supported by the Paris Saclay Cancer Cluster (PSCC), the first biocluster selected by the French government as part of its France 2030 strategy. The Hive stands at the heart of this strategy, with specialised laboratories and research facilities as well as opportunities for early-stage companies. The Île-de-France Region supported the creation of an innovation center within the Hive dedicated to early-stage start-ups, notably through the award of a €1 million grant. Designed by the development agency Sadev94, alongside the City of Villejuif and Grand Orly Seine Bièvre local authority, an entirely new district is taking shape, comprising a diverse range of housing including accommodation for researchers, retail outlets, public services and first-class transport infrastructure. This includes the Villejuif Gustave-Roussy station on the Grand Paris Express, voted the world’s most beautiful station by UNESCO in 2025.

Rapid uptake signals strong interest and demand

The development of The Hive was met with rapid market validation, as demonstrated by the arrival of its first tenants, including Sanofi, a founding member of the biocluster, which has established offices and laboratories onsite; and the PSCC, which has established its teams within the building to help drive and structure the ecosystem on a daily basis. Other occupants include OranoMed, Orakl Oncology, Valerio Therapeutics, One Biosciences and Methys Dx, all of which have already established their presence in The Hive. This rapid adoption confirms the attractiveness of the model jointly driven by Kadans Science Partner, through high-level real estate and scientific infrastructure, and the PSCC, through an ecosystem strategy designed to accelerate oncology innovation. The Innovation Center housed within The Hive reached full occupancy within weeks of opening, welcoming seven companies on its first floor alone. The inauguration of The Hive comes with the additional announcement of the Innovation Center’s expansion, opening a second floor and extending its capacity with more ready-to-use laboratory facilities tailored to early-stage companies.

Strategy of European importance

The choice to inaugurate The Hive as part of the Kadans Oncology Summit marks a major milestone in the development of Campus Grand Parc and confirms the ecosystem’s growing international reach. The programme, combining high-level discussions with industry panels and one-on-one meetings, illustrates the willingness of Kadans Science Partner, the PSCC and their partners to work together and establish Campus Grand Parc as a European convergence point for oncology innovation. Clusters such as Campus Grand Parc are not only based in economic growth but are also of strategic value on a European scale. By anchoring research, intellectual property generation, clinical expertise and early-stage development within specialised clusters, initiatives such as these contribute to strengthening Europe’s health sovereignty and securing access to the therapies.

“With its three hospitals and its ecosystem dedicated to science, health and innovation, Villejuif is the hospital city par excellence, a city that cares, that welcomes and that enables everyone to thrive. Around Gustave Roussy, we are building a truly open, accessible district, fully integrated into the rest of the city. This is not about creating a closed site reserved for researchers, but a genuine piece of city life, where people can live, work, study, meet, walk and flourish, benefiting from existing cultural, sporting and community vitality. With housing for all, shops, a new school, a nursery, green spaces and places dedicated to arts and creativity, Campus Grand Parc must become a space for sharing and innovation, serving residents as well as patients and their families.”

Pierre Garzon, Mayor of Villejuif and Chairman of Sadev94

“The inauguration of The Hive brings to fruition an ambition carried by Sadev94 for more than fifteen years: to see the emergence in Villejuif of a true hospital city, one that treats and innovates against cancer, but also a district in which people live. Campus Grand Parc was designed as an open ecosystem, combining laboratories, offices, a residence for researchers, a hotel and housing for all, bringing together researchers, healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, patients and residents in a genuine urban neighbourhood.”

Mathias DoquetChassaing, Chief Executive Officer of Sadev94, developer of Campus Grand Parc

“The opening of The Hive marks a major milestone for the Paris Saclay Cancer Cluster. It gives operational reality to our ambition of bringing together, within a single location, the expertise, infrastructure and partners essential to accelerating innovation in oncology. By bringing entrepreneurs, researchers, clinicians, industry leaders and investors closer together, we will be able to transform scientific discoveries into solutions for patients more rapidly.”

Professor Eric Vivier, President of the PSCC

“With Campus Grand Parc and The Hive, we are tangibly scaling up our ability to transform the fight against cancer. By closely linking research, innovation, entrepreneurship and clinical practice, we are creating the conditions to develop solutions that are useful to patients more rapidly and to improve their chances of recovery. This collective momentum is essential to (re)establish France as a European leader in oncology, recognised worldwide for its scientific and medical excellence, its capacity for innovation and its societal impact.”

Professor Fabrice Barlesi, Chief Executive Officer of Gustave Roussy

“We are proud to contribute to this collaborative European oncology ecosystem, where academic research, innovative biotechs, and industry join forces to accelerate the therapies of tomorrow”

Jacques Volckmann, Global Head of External Innovation, Sanofi

“For five years, we have collectively imagined, written and conceptualised a place that enables all oncology stakeholders to meet and accelerate their projects together, finding concrete solutions to their challenges. At The Hive, the flagship of the PSCC, the 222 members of PSCC Connect will be able to design and deliver the development of diagnostic tools and innovative treatments that will save many lives worldwide in the future.”

Christian Deleuze, President of Medicen and PSCC Connect

“The inauguration of The Hive marks an important milestone in Kadans’ development in France. We are proud that this building will become a key hub for the oncology ecosystem in Europe. The Hive illustrates our ability to create environments where researchers, entrepreneurs and industrial partners come together and, collectively, accelerate innovation against cancer. Located at the heart of Campus Grand Parc and the Paris Saclay Cancer Cluster, we are helping to strengthen France’s position as a key player in oncology at European level.”

Elsa Ferrard, Head of France, Kadans Science Partner
