Plus Ultra Utrecht welcomes Xilis as newest tenant
At Kadans Science Partner we are happy to welcome a new member to Plus Ultra Utrecht: Xilis. Xilis will be a dynamic addition to the vibrant cluster that is Utrecht Science Park. They are the latest tenant to sign a lease for the newest life sciences building currently under development on Utrecht Science Park.
Xilis’ MOS® technology accelerates the development of personalised treatments for cancer patients. To alleviate clinical need, the company leverages their technology to study cancer types that have so far proven challenging to study in the laboratory such as multiple myeloma. Additionally, as MOS retain the tumor microenvironment (meaning that, in addition to the tumor cells also the surrounding cells such as immune cells are present), these models are particularly well suited to study drug effects of therapies that require these multiple cell types for their mode of action.
Xilis B.V., Xilis Inc.’s subsidiary in the Netherlands, has had a presence on the Utrecht campus since 2022. The site is now expanding and is therefore looking forward to move to Plus Ultra Utrecht. Xilis is glad to be able to stay in Utrecht, as many of the neighboring institutes and hospitals have experience with 3D organoid models themselves, making them and their employees highly valuable scientific partners for the company.

Within walking distance of each other, more than 75,000 students, researchers, and staff from renowned medical centres, knowledge institutes, and companies work together at Utrecht Science Park to develop and apply pioneering science and solutions in the fields of healthcare, life sciences, and sustainability. The new Plus Ultra Utrecht is currently being constructed at this Park, the beating heart of Europe’s most competitive region.
Plus Ultra Utrecht is set to be completed in July 2025. In the meantime, Xilis and Kadans have started the fit-out process to create the perfect research environment fitted to Xilis’ specific needs on the eleventh floor of Plus Ultra Utrecht.
Offering around 23,000 m2 of future-proof laboratory and office facilities, the building is aimed at innovative start-ups and scale-ups active in Life Sciences & Health. Plus Ultra Utrecht is located within proximity of extraordinary resources, as well as research and knowledge institutes such as Utrecht University and UMC Utrecht. The physical environment is carefully crafted to combine the perfect mix of fitted laboratories, office spaces and dynamic meeting facilities.
